Mothers Day, 2010
by Steve Petersen
As the sun rises and another morning breaks,
a heart beats somewhere because of you.
And if you hear the sound of egrets flying
high above or the tiny splash of clear cool water
passing in the stream beneath your window,
you are loved. God loves you, we love you.
Happy Mothers Day

LIFE IS A JOURNEY
By Jamie Bayard

It is easier to
embrace ignorance
than to gain knowledge.

Life is a journey
not a destination

For if we loose site
of our purpose
we end up in bondage.

When does a man
realize his flaws?

Truly to be humbled
by his actions and
the words from his jaw

At the very moment
of realization
awakened by a roaring
Lion
scared without patience

At this moment the
heart burns and stomach
like a stray dog, hungry
for a ration of anything,
anything, anything….but
this he can not change.

It’s at your bitter
end you realize that
Life is real…..

One cannot escape it
with a crumb or a pill

Nothing is new
all has been done.
I used to ask:

What is my purpose?
and the answer was;
“Just to have fun”.

I know now more than
ever, in the eye of the storm.

May be clear for a moment
and can appear to be the norm.
but in just a few seconds
here comes the alarm!

Thrashing and blowing
and pouring down pain

Run, run, run, get away
from the rain…..

Hide in the house
Hide with your friends
Hide with your conscience
We know how that ends……

Washing Away
by Bailey Yates
My cousin Kyle is the most loving, thoughtful
and kind person you would ever meet.
I wrote "Kyle" on my hand because he is
going into the U.S. ARMY.
When I washed my hands,
his name washed away.
He can wash away from my hands,
but he can't ever wash away
from my HEART!
